Your PDFs never leave this tab.
Merge, split, rotate and reorder pages right here in your browser. There is no server to send files to, because there is no server. Close the tab and it's gone.
Combine several PDFs into one. Drag the rows to set the order.
How to split
No upload, no wait
Processing happens on your own machine, so speed depends on your device, not on someone else's queue.
Nothing to leak
Files are never transmitted, so there's no copy sitting on a server waiting to be breached or subpoenaed.
Open to inspection
The page source is unminified and readable. You don't have to take the claim on trust.
How this works, precisely
stackpetal is not a file host and not a file transfer service. It does not receive, store, forward or retain documents. There is no upload endpoint, no storage, no database, no account system and no backend application of any kind. The site is a single static page served as ordinary web assets.
When you choose a file, your browser reads it into local memory using the standard File API. Every operation on this page — merging, splitting, rotating, watermarking, building a PDF from images — is carried out by JavaScript running on your own device, using the open source libraries pdf-lib and pdf.js. The finished file is handed back to you as a local browser download. Your document is never sent anywhere.
Check it yourself in under a minute
- Open your browser's developer tools (F12 on most browsers) and select the Network tab.
- Choose a PDF and run any tool above.
- Watch the request list. You will see the page's own scripts, fonts and stylesheet load, and nothing else. No request carries your file.
This matters if you work under data handling rules — in finance, healthcare, law, or anywhere confidential material can't be sent to third-party servers. The document stays on your machine and never crosses your network boundary, because there is nowhere for it to go.
